He sat down looked around the room. It was a mess. Their night of eating pizza, watching movies had given way to a night of passion. By the time it was over, the remains of the pizza and the box where on the floor, and the pop they were drinking was left to go flat and undrinkable.
He sat thinking about what had happened last night. He wasn't drunk, in fact he didn't drink at all. Neither did she. But somewhere between Casablanca, and Sinatra playing on the stereo, The song Summer Winds came back to him. He went over to the stereo, checked the CD player, sure enough that disc was in it. He found the song The Summer Winds, Played it. Then played it again.
As the CD played the rest of the disc, the started cleaning up the room. the pizza boxes, and pop were first to go. Finely got the room looking decent. Then there was the couch. He had watched many a movies there, but until last night was the first times he'd made love on a couch.
The phone rang. He found his his cell phone and answered it.
"John, About last night,, we need to talk.. It should have never happened."
"But it did, so what do we do about it?
"I'm not sure. " They said good-bye and hung up, John sat and went over the events of the night before in his mind.
He could see the movies playing in his mind. The movie finished . Then he vaguely remembered offering to play some music, The Sinatra disc was in the player, so he'd started it playing. They sat and drank their pop enjoying the music. Next, thing he remembered, they were kissing. Thing seemed to blur and he remembered the feel of her body next to him and the ways things had quickly progressed from there. The rest of the evening flashed through his mind, their caressing, and the wonderful things that they did from there. But why did it happen? They had known each other for years. They had been friends and co-workers for many years. They had spent many a evening together enjoying their common interest in classic movies and appreciated music from the likes of Frank Sinatra, and others of the era . What had made this evening different? The more John thought about it; He didn't care. He decided that he would take the chance and see where last night would lead.
He started the Sinatra Cd again, and sat back and really enjoyed Summer Winds and the rest of in ways he'd never before.
