The phone rang again later in the evening. it was Kim.
"We need to talk.. about last night."
"Yes we do , Can you come over ?" John asked.
"I'm through with work, I'll be over in about a hour, I have to get gas and same groceries. I'll be over as quick as I can."
They hung up their respective cell phones.
John sat watching the tv without seeing. His mind kept wander back to last night and their movie, and music, and where it had ended up.
Part of him was anxious to see her again, he wanted to hold her again, But there was a bigger part that was scared stupid. He hat this pit in the middle of his stomach. He knew this could go either very good or very badly. But either way they had to face each other again sooner or later, he knew sooner was better then later. The sooner they figured out how they were going to handle last night, and where she wanted to from there, the better. He already knew where wanted to go. He knew he wanted to continue the relationship and see where it could lead.
The doorbell rang. Kim stood there on the porch. She had a case of their favorite pop, Pepsi, and some snacks, in hand. John took that that as a good sign. He helped her carry the stuff in and set it up. The tension was thick. He knew what he said or did now would be critical. He wasn't sure what to do. He knew what he wanted to; hug and kiss her, but somehow that didn't seem appropriate at this point. They looked at each other a minute.
"How you been today, John?'
"Good, kept busy around the house, cleaning up, we made a bit of a mess last night, didn't we?" He poor attempt at a joke.
"I'll say we did, But it was a good mess. "
"Yes it was, and is. The question is how do we clean it up? "
"I've been thinking about it that all day. "
Kim walked over to John and wrapped her arms around his neck pulled him to her face and kissed him. He pulled her close to him, his arms went around her, they stood in the middle of the room entwined in a long slow kiss.
When they finely broke the kiss, they stood looking at each other.
They sat down on the couch, and spent the rest of the evening talking about how they were going to entwine their lives together, for now on.
Later they were entwined more imminently in his bedroom.
